Jammu, June 10: A high-level delegation of the Rashtriya Parshuram Parishad (RPP), Jammu & Kashmir, led by its state president Pt. JN Sharma, met Sapna Kotwal (KAS), Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Pahari Advisory Board, to discuss various pressing concerns related to the welfare and upliftment of Pahari community students.
During the meeting, the RPP delegation highlighted several issues hampering the educational growth and social inclusion of Pahari youth in the Union Territory. The delegation earnestly urged the Secretary to take immediate and result-oriented steps to address the challenges faced by students from this community, particularly in areas related to scholarships, hostel facilities, skill development programmes, and reservation benefits.
Secretary Sapna Kotwal gave a patient and sympathetic hearing to the concerns raised by the delegation. She appreciated the RPP’s efforts towards advocating for the marginalized sections and assured the members that all genuine demands will be taken up on a priority basis with the concerned authorities. She also emphasized the government’s commitment towards inclusive development and educational empowerment of underrepresented communities.
The deputation comprised several prominent figures including Vikrant Sharma, General Secretary of Rashtriya Parshuram Parishad; Dr. Nitin, Assistant Professor of Law and a member of RPP; Bharat Sharma, BJP leader from Rajouri and member of the Parishad; and representatives from the Sanatan Dharm Sabha Poonch.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Pt. J.N. Sharma said, “We are hopeful that the Pahari Advisory Board will act swiftly on the matters raised today. The future of our youth must be secured through active policy implementation and direct engagement with grassroots needs.”
The Rashtriya Parshuram Parishad reiterated its commitment to continue working for the upliftment of socially and educationally backward sections of society, particularly the Pahari-speaking population, and thanked the Secretary for her responsiveness and assurance.
This meeting is seen as a constructive step toward bridging administrative action and community needs – a move welcomed by many stakeholders working towards the equitable development of the Union Territory.
