Notorious Drug Peddler ‘Petha’ Arrested with Heroin in Jammu; TVS Motorcycle Seized

Jammu, July 26: In a major success against drug trafficking, Jammu Police arrested a notorious and habitual drug peddler during an early morning operation in the Puran Nagar–Bhagwati Nagar area on Sunday.
The accused has been identified as Krishan Gupta alias Ashu alias “Petha”, son of Kalash Chand Gupta, resident of Talab Tillo, Jammu. During his personal search, police recovered approximately 9–10 grams of heroin-like substance (Chitta) from his possession. A TVS motorcycle used by the accused was also seized.
The operation was carried out by a team from Police Post Talab Tillo, led by Incharge Police Post SI Surjeet Kumar, under the supervision of SHO Police Station Nowabad, and under the overall supervision of the SP City Jammu and SSP Jammu.
Police said the accused is a habitual offender and notorious drug peddler with several NDPS Act cases already registered against him. He had been absconding for a long time and was finally apprehended during the early morning raid.
A case under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered, and further investigation is underway to trace his forward and backward links in the narcotics network.
Jammu Police reiterated its commitment to continue its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking and appealed to the public to share information about drug-related activities to help make society drug-free.
