IMCSD holds traffic awareness interaction for Media Interns at SSP Office

Jammu, June 10: The Institute of Mass Communication and Skill Development (IMCSD) today organised an interactive awareness programme for media interns of Government Women’s College, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. As part of their practical training, the interns visited the office of SSP Traffic Jammu, Farooq Qaiser, and engaged in a meaningful interaction on traffic-related issues.
During the session, SSP Traffic Farooq Qaiser briefed the students on the importance of following traffic rules, ensuring road safety, and the collective responsibility of citizens in maintaining traffic discipline.
The interns actively participated in the discussion, posing thoughtful questions about the challenges faced by the traffic police, the rise in road accidents, and the need for improved infrastructure.
Responding to their queries, SSP Qaiser highlighted the ongoing efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police in raising public awareness.
He informed the interns that regular workshops and campaigns are conducted across schools, colleges, and public spaces to promote safe driving practices.
SSP Qaiser while addressing the interns said “You, as future journalists, play a vital role in spreading awareness. The youth must lead by example-follow traffic rules, wear helmets and seatbelts, avoid using mobile phones while driving.
The interns thanked the SSP for the valuable insights. Senior journalist and executive member of IMCSD, Vicky Verma led the interns to SSP Traffic office.
