Pending enquiry in Kalidhar range illegal felling, 11 concerned officials attached

11 attached; 14 transferred!

  • The Administrative Department vide its letter No FST-PCB/7/2021-02 dated 08-08-2023 conveyed approval of attachment of 11 officials to PCCF J&K.
  •  The PCCF J&K attached 11 officials and transferred 14 officials by Forest Order No 187 of 2023 dated 10-08-2023 to pave way for fair enquiry.
  • At first, Jammu Jottings had broken the news regarding illegal felling of Khair and other trees in Kalidhar range and sensing the gravity of matter is being investigated in which 12 officials including Range officer have been attached.

Jammu, Aug 11: Following the approval conveyed by the Administrative Department, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & HoFF Jammu & Kashmir, till pending enquiry, attached total 11 employees out of which five are forest guard but officiating as Block Officer and six are forest besides 14 officials have been transferred and posted in different places in the interest of department.
It is pertinent to mention that the government had ordered a preliminary enquiry into illegal felling of Khair and other trees in Kalidhar range and later the government has accorded the sanction to the same committee for detailed enquiry vide government order No 161-JK(FST) of 2023 dated 08-08-2023 with a rider that the committee will submit the report within three months fixing individual responsibilities of each office/official in the case, after giving due opportunity of being heard to all the concerned.
To give a fillip to the enquiry and to satiate the process, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & HoFF Jammu & Kashmir, Roshan Jaggi IFS has attached 11 officials with his office, working in and around Kalidhar range after getting approval from the administrative department. Out of 11 officials, five are Forest Guard officiating BO, they include Salmat Ali Forest Guard officiating as I/c BO Khour Block; Vikram Singh Forest Guard officiating as I/c BO Panjgrain Block; Akshay Sharma Forest Guard officiating as I/c BO Samah Block; Pankaj Gupts Forest Guard officiating as I/c BO Chowki Block ; and Ashwani Sharma Forest Guard officiating as I/c BO Choura Block. The five Forest Guards officiating as I/c BO has been attached with PCCF office for smooth conduction of enquiry to dig the truth out. The six Forest Guards attached with PCCF officer are Vijay kumar Forest Guard Jadh beat; Ashu Sharma Forest Guard Panjgrian Beat; Surrender Dogra Forest Guard Mawa Brahmana Beat; Kharati Lal Forest Guard Tanda Beat; Bhushan Lal Forest Guard Choura Beat; and Sunil Sharma Beat Guard Kharah Beat. The Range Officer Kalidhar Pawan Sharma has been already attached by the government.
Consequent to the above attachment the PCCF has made 14 transfers and postings in the interest of department and to fill those posts who have been attached due to pending enquiry in Kalidhar illegal felling as – Maljyoti Sharma, Forester transferred and posted as BO Khour; Amit Gupta posted as BO Nagrota-II; Ajay Choudhary posted as BO Choura; Surjeet Singh posted as BO Sumah; Surrender Sharma posted as I/c BO Chowki; Chandershekhar Singh Bhalwal posted as I/c BO Panjgrian; Sandeep Khajuria posted as I/c BO Paloura; Kuldeep Singh posted as Beat Guard Kharah Beat; Adarash Khajuria posted as Beat Guard Kheri Beat; Nazir Ahmed posted as beat Guard Panjgrian Beat; Tarun Mehra posted as Beat Guard Mawa Brhamana Beat; Rajeshwar Singh posted as beat guard Tanda Beat; Ajay Kumar posted as Beat Guard Choura Beat; and Raj Kumar Tikkoo posted as Beat Guard Jadh Beat.
