Suspected food poisoning case: 15 years old dies, 18 yearsold cousin serious sick

Rajouri, July 9: A minor boy died while his cousin fell seriously ill after consuming either an expired or contaminated meal at dinner in the Bathuni village of Rajouri district on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Narinder Kumar (15) son of Khem Bahadur and his cousin is identified as Navraj (18) son of Jai Raja.
According to unconfirmed reports some families working as labourers living in rented accommodations in Bathuni village under Rajouri Police station jurisdiction.
According to members of the families, both fell sick immediately after taking dinner. Both were rushed to Associated Hospital Government Medical College (AH GMC) in Rajouri where the doctors declared Narinder Kumar brought dead.
Navraj is under treatment, however, his condition is said to be critical.
After the post-mortem & during the preliminary investigation it came to the fore that both had consumed either expired or contaminated meals and fell seriously sick.
The exact cause of death would be clear after the FSL report, said a doctor. Meanwhile, taking cognizance of the incident, the Rajouri police have started inquest proceedings into this incident.
