Jammu, Jul 09: The dismal performance of the JK Service Selection Board has not remained a secret, whereas a complainant has made a complaint in this record to LG Grievances Cell on 08-04-2023 and explained everything in detail about security issues in the websites of JKSSB.
As per the complaint contents, it has been made clear that the website of the JKSSB is having many lapses and that has put personal information and privacy of millions of people at risk. The complainant owing responsibility had reported the matter of multiple critical security issues to the JKSSB IT team via email but he could not get response from the JKSSB at least two months and the issue of security remained as it was. The complainant further managed to contact the officials of JKSSB and he was able to get in touch with Reyaz Ahmad Malik (JKAS) Controller Of Examination of JKSSB.
The complainant mentioned in his compliant that Mr Reyaz Ahmad Malik had initially appreciated the efforts of the complainant and assured him that he would be suitably rewarded for his contribution in making JKSSB secure and helping to protect JKSSB. The complainant’s efforts had access to more than 10 million personal information of JKSSB aspirants and that were already on risk of data breach.
He further sent them almost five vulnerability reports and they (JKSSB) were patching the security issues. As per the complainant one more security issue in another website provided him access to more than 8 lakh personal information of JKSSB aspirants, including phone numbers, email Ids, username and passwords.
