Rajouri, July 9: In a tragic road accident on the historical Mughal Road at about 7.30 pm on Sunday, a senior officer of UT of J&K government, his wife, and son were killed while the daughter was injured and as per reports is out of danger.
The deceased have been identified as Director Finance, Forest, Ecology, and Environment, Ranbir Singh Bali; his wife, Parvinder Kour, and son Irvan Singh all residents of Baramulla district in Kashmir province.
Ranbir Singh Bali, his wife, and son died on the spot, sources said, and added the daughter is under treatment in the hospital.
Sources added the family travelling in a private car, bearing registration No. JK02BD-4635, was on their way to Jammu from Kashmir when the car skidded off the road near Pannar Bridge on the Mughal Road and fell into a deep gorge.
Senior police officers along with Army personnel rushed to the spot and started a rescue operation. Following torrential rains in the higher reaches of Pir Panjal ranges the Mughal Road is suffering severe damage and mostly remains closed due to land slides.
The police have started an investigation into this matter.
