ACD’s 1-day salary deducted for submitting incorrect attendance of 7 BDOs

  • ACD & BDOs asked to explain their positions within 2 days
  •  As a penalty ½ day’s salary of BDOs deducted

Rajouri, May 14: For providing incorrect information about the attendance of seven BDOs, who were found absent at their respective HQs from their legitimate duties on Saturday (13/5/2023), one day’s salary of Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Rajouri will be deducted while the half-day salary of all the 7 BDOs will also be deducted as a penalty.
The one-day salary of another BDO has also been deducted who proceeded on an exposure tour without seeking permission from the competent authority.
In this connection an order No. DCR/2023-24/PA/63-68 dt 13/5/23) was issued on Saturday by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Rajiv Kumar Khajuria, and directed to deposit the deducted amount in the account of Red Cross Society.
It is pertinent to mention here that as per government instructions absence from duty/station HQ without prior permission from the competent authority is a serious violation of instructions of the government.
Additional DC’s order reads strict instructions were issued from time to time from the office of the Deputy Commissioner that no officer shall leave the station HQ without prior permission of the competent authority.
Seven Block Development Officers (BDOs) went to attend training at Jammu from May 11 to 12 and were supposed to be present on duty at their respective station HQs.
It was found that all the 7 BDOs skipped (unauthorised absent) their duties on Saturday while BDO Qila Darhal, Madan Mohan proceeded on an exposure tour without seeking permission from the competent authority.
The BDOs who were on unauthorised absence from duty on Saturday include BDO Dhangri (Javiad Ahmed), Darhal (Aamir Choudhary), Budhal New (Atul Mankotia), Khawas/Moughla (M. Hanief), Panjgrain (Sayela Mir), Rajouri (Pardeep Kumar), and HQ Rajouri A Rashid Khawaja).
“The Assistant Commissioner Development Rajouri has submitted incorrect attendance of BDOs (7) showing the absent BDOs as present on their HQs which shows non-seriousness/casual approach in performing his legitimate duties of reporting,” read Additional DC order.
“It has been observed that most of the BDOs/their subordinate are marking their attendance from the office of ACD/ACP/DPO/XEN-REW instead of their respective offices. A strict warning is hereby issued to the concerned officers/officials to shun this practice immediately & be particular in making their attendance from their respective offices only” the order also said.
“Before taking any disciplinary action, the said officers are directed to explain their positions for such casual approach within 2 days positively” ADC Rajouri’s order reads.
