School Bus Mishap: 5 injured, 2 refereed to GMC Jammu & 1 to GMC Rajouri

Rajouri May 12: Five students of TMT School Nowshera in Rajouri district were injured when the bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and hit a big rock on the roadside near Rani Bhadetar (Narian) on Jammu-Poonch highway in the evening today under the jurisdiction of Rajouri police station.
The exact reason behind the mishap was not known immediately; however, locals and those trevelling on the highway helped in rescuing the students and also informed the police.
The injured students were shifted to a sub-district hospital at Nowshera.
“On getting information about the mishap, two 1008 Ambulances were rushed to the accident site. All the five injured students were immediately provided treatment by the doctors,” said Block Medical Officer (Nowshera) Dr. Iqbal Malik.
Injured students have been identified as Arushi (15) d/o Narinder Singh (head injury); Mohd Wasim (13) s/o Anwar Hussain (compound fracture lower left leg); Gurjeet Singh (11) s/o Sanjay Kumar (head injury); Atul Singh (14) s/o Avtar Singh, and Mohd Azeem s/o Anwar Hussain (both received minor injuries) and all are residents of village Narian.
“Out of five, two were later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu while one shifted to GMC Rajouri for specialised treatment,” said Dr. Iqbal Malik.
Those shifted to Jammu include Mohd Wasim and Gurjeet Singh and Arushi was referred to GMC Rajouri.
Sources said after the school was closed, on the bus.
Taking cognizance of the mishap, the police have started further investigation.
