POONCH:- In a concerted effort to extend governmental outreach and succour to borderland communities grappling with the aftermath of cross-border hostilities, the Honourable Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Mr. Javed Ahmed Rana, undertook an exhaustive tour of several Line of Control (LoC) villages within the Mankote Sector of Poonch district, notably the hamlets of Uchhad and Jhulas. Accompanied by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Mendhar, Mr. Imran Kataria, alongside an ensemble of senior officials from the Sub-Divisional Administration, the Minister engaged directly with local inhabitants whose lives and livelihoods have been adversely impacted by the recent spate of cross-border shelling. Demonstrating empathetic leadership, Mr. Rana meticulously evaluated the quantum of destruction inflicted upon residential properties, agricultural assets, and community infrastructure. He interacted with the distressed families, extending heartfelt condolences and expressing unwavering solidarity in the wake of their tribulations.
In his address, the Minister issued unequivocal directives to the civil administration to expedite the procedural formalities necessary for the disbursement of ex gratia compensation to the affected households. He underscored the imperative of delivering timely financial aid and rehabilitative relief as a fundamental obligation of the state.
Furthermore, Mr. Rana conducted an on-the-spot review of the infrastructural impairments wrought by the shelling. He instructed officials to accord top priority to the restoration and reconstruction efforts, ensuring that essential services and civic amenities are reinstated with alacrity. The Minister emphasised the exigency of a coordinated administrative response aimed at ameliorating the humanitarian plight of the affected populace.
In his concluding remarks, Mr. Rana reaffirmed the Government’s resolute commitment to safeguarding the rights and welfare of border residents. He pledged sustained support and reiterated that no stone shall be left unturned in ameliorating their condition and fortifying their resilience in the face of recurring adversity.
