DC Rajouri Abhishek Sharma assures timely relief for shelling victims

Rajouri, May 16: To provide immediate relief to those affected by the recent deadly missile and drone attacks by Pakistan, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, on Friday (May 16), visited the affected areas.
Later, he chaired a crucial meeting to review the progress of the ongoing assessment of damage caused to residential houses. Sharma directed officials from multiple departments, including the Revenue Department and the Rural Development Department (RDD), to ensure effective identification and reporting of damage cases from every corner of the district.
“No genuine case should be left out. The deputed teams must assess as per the laid-down norms and in a time-bound manner. Field teams should visit the doorsteps of affected households to assess the extent of the damage and ensure timely relief,” said the DC. “The aim is to ensure that all affected families receive due support without delay. Officials must act with sincerity, empathy, and urgency,” he added.
Earlier in the day, Deputy Commissioner Sharma visited Panjgrain and other affected areas to take a firsthand stock of the situation. He interacted with the local population, listened to their grievances, and assured them that timely relief would be provided to all eligible victims.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Chander Prakash; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohammad Jahangir Khan; and other concerned district and sectoral officers.
