Rajouri, March 11: Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat, along with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, visited Poonch district on Tuesday to review the security scenario following recent infiltration attempts from across the Line of Control (LoC) and the recent killing of minorities in Kathua district.
The visit aimed at enhancing security measures, addressing the concerns of local security personnel, and reviewing the overall security situation along the border and in the hinterland. The dignitaries began their tour by interacting with District
officers, listening to their concerns, and assessing the security needs of the region.
As part of their visit, the officers visited the forward village of Salotri, located along the LoC, to gain a first-hand understanding of the security situation in the area. They inspected areas vulnerable to infiltration and evaluated the measures in place to prevent such incidents in the future.
While at the LoC, DGP Nalin Prabhat closely observed the terrain and emphasized the importance of enhanced vigilance considering recent infiltration attempts. He instructed security forces to remain on high alert and maintain strict monitoring to counter any potential threats.
In addition to reviewing the border security scenario, the DGP and IGP visited the District Police Line (DPL) in Poonch, where they interacted with jawans and listened to their grievances. They assured the personnel of their commitment to addressing their concerns and improving their welfare, recognizing their crucial role in maintaining peace and security in the region.
The visit concluded with a comprehensive review meeting of the security grid of Poonch district, chaired by DGP Nalin Prabhat and IGP Bhim Sen Tuti. Senior police officers and security officials discussed various aspects of the current security situation, focusing on strengthening coordination between different security agencies to ensure that the district remains secure and vigilant.
