Nagrota, Aug 11: In a swift and decisive action, Nagrota Police have apprehended a criminal in possession of an illegal firearm, preventing a potential threat to public safety and demonstrating their unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order.
During a routine vehicle check at the TCP Nagrota in the early hours of the morning, a police team stopped a motorcycle bearing registration number JK06B-5059 traveling from Udhampur towards Jammu. Upon searching the rider, the police discovered a Desi Katta (country-made pistol) and one live cartridge.
The individual was immediately taken into custody and identified as Dheeraj Kumar, son of Girdhari Lal, a resident of Jethali, Tehsil Mahalla, District Doda. A case has been registered against him at Police Station Nagrota under FIR No. 220/2024, invoking Section 3/25 of the Arms Act.
This successful operation was the result of the relentless efforts of the Nagrota Police team, led by SHO Inspector Rajeshwar Singh. The operation was conducted under the strategic guidance of SDPO Nagrota Aakash Kohli and the overall supervision of Superintendent of Police (SP) Rural Jammu Brijesh Kumar.
