Jammu Police attach property worth ₹30 lakhs acquired through narcotics trade

In a decisive action against the nexus of drug trafficking and illegal assets, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have successfully attached properties valued at approximately ₹30 lakhs, which were acquired through proceeds of narcotics trade. This significant move underscores the department’s commitment to disrupting the financial lifelines of drug syndicates and ensuring justice.

According to an official statement from the police, a specialized team from Police Station Bakshi Nagar executed the attachment of a residential complex in the Toph Sherkhanian area of Mehra Mohalla, Tehsil & District Jammu. This property, valued around ₹25 lakhs, was linked to notorious drug peddler Bobby Mehra, son of Raj Kumar, who resides at H.No 44, Toph Sherkhanian, Jammu.

The property was attached under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. The police revealed that the residential complex was acquired from the proceeds of narcotic activities and illegal means. This conclusion was reached after thorough investigations into multiple cases, including FIR No. 1012021 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act, FIR No. 129/2021 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act, and FIR No. 29/2023 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act, all related to drug offenses.

The successful attachment of the property was led by a dedicated team, including SP City North Shivam Sidharth (IPS), SDPO City West Zaheer Abbas Zafri, SHO PS Bakshi Nagar Insp. Sajid Mughal, and I/C PP Sarwal Anil Thappa. Their efforts in meticulously following legal procedures were instrumental in this operation. The property was seized in the presence of the Executive Magistrate First Class, Jammu Khas, ensuring that all actions adhered to legal standards.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police have received commendation for their rigorous and effective approach in this operation.
