Jammu, Feb 29: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sachin Kumar Vaishya, IAS, and SSP Jammu Dr. Vinod Kumar, IPS, convened an interactive session with prominent religious leaders of District Jammu at DPL Jammu here today.
During the meeting, the DC emphasized the importance of cooperation from religious leaders in maintaining peace and normalcy within the district.
SSP Jammu urged religious heads to remain vigilant against the dissemination of misinformation and fake news on social media, highlighting their crucial role in fostering peace and brotherhood among different communities. He appealed to them to leverage their influence to promote a drug-free society and sensitize the public to the dangers of drug abuse.
Both DC and SSP are known for their outreach and administrative qualities and have worked together in District Udhampur thereby having a strong bonding needed to run the administration effectively.
Furthermore, SSP Jammu stressed the need for vigilance against mischief-makers who spread misinformation online, disrupting harmony, and assured the leaders that appropriate legal action would be taken against such elements.
The religious leaders expressed their full support to the administration and pledged to adhere to the decisions and directives issued by the authorities.
DC Jammu reiterated the importance of collective efforts in combating the drug menace and emphasized the need for individual responsibility in this endeavour.
