One killed another was injured in a Tipper mishap in Rajouri

Rajouri, August 22: In the late evening hour on Tuesday in a road mishap, reportedly co-driver of a Tipper was killed while the driver was injured critically & is under treatment in Government Medical College Associated Hospital (GMCAH).
The Tipper was on its way from Palma to Thathi village when the driver lost control of the vehicle due to the narrow track and fell into the deep gorge at about 6.30 pm.
Ifraz Ahmed (24) son of Mohd Sharief resident of Thudi village died on the spot while Mushtaq Ahmed (24) s/o Talib Hussain r/o Thudi was injured and shifted to GMC AH.
Immediately after the accident, the inhabitants of the area held a protest against concerned officers of PMGSy alleging that the mishap happened due to the department, & contractor as the width of the road is not as per DPR and was recently blacktopped.
“The matter about unsatisfactory construction of this 9 km road between Nagrota-Thathi & Badhoon was raised several times before the concerned higher authorities but no action was taken to date,” said locals.
Inhabitants of the area have appealed to the Deputy Commissioner to visit the spot to take first-hand details about the sub-standard work done on this road under PMGSy.
They also demanded suitable compensation for the deceased & the injured and inquiry against the concerned PMGSy officials & contractor.
