Kishtwar, Aug 22: The district police of Kishtwar has taken a mission to channelize the youth energy for the building of society and nation and in this concern the police have taken many programs and steps.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal has shown huge commitment to promote sporting culture in Kishtwar. He has taken responsibility to bring the sports atmosphere to remotest corners and keep the youth engaged in sports activities. Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal has taken various steps to provide level playing field to budding sportspersons to display their talent and to ensure their career progressions under various flagship programs. SSP maintains that it’s the collective responsibility of parents, civil society members and police to organize such types of platforms to keep the younger generation away from the scourge of drug addiction, anti-social and anti-national acts. Under his able guidance, Kishtwar Police is continuously taking strict steps against drugs here so that the youth stay away from drug addiction. In order to keep the youth away from drugs and fit, the district police is continuously organizing sports competitions for the youth. Such programs are being organized at almost every police station level in which District SSP Khalil Poswal himself is getting such events organized by taking interest so that the society can be drug free. This has been doubly beneficial, firstly, public relations with the police are improving across the district and Second youth are moving towards their better future. According to the information, strict action is being taken by the District Police Kishtwar against drugs across the district. Police stations across the district have been instructed not to spare any drug smuggler anywhere in the district. In this sequence, in the last seven months, 17 cases against drugs traffickers have been registered by the district police in which a lot of drug consignments has been recovered by the police, not only this, taking the investigation forward in these cases, bank accounts of 15 people have been seized by the police which is a big action in itself. Action has been taken against seven drug peddlers under PSA. In this way, the police’s war against drugs continues across the district. While continuing its fight against drugs, on the other hand, more and more youths are being associated with them through various sports competitions being organized by Kishtwar Police. The Aman Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament was organized by the police in Kishtwar in which about three thousand youths participated which became a big event. Similarly, volleyball, Cricket, powerlifting tournaments were organized at Pandar, Chhatru, Dachhan. In this way, the interest of the youth is being made towards sports. Kishtwar Police is further promoting sports in District so that the police officers remain connected with the youth at the police station level. The biggest benefit of this has been success of Police to divert attention of youth from wrong things and moving them towards sports. SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal believes that many sports events are being organized by the police at the district level. The police always try to connect with the youth as much as possible. He said that strict action against drugs is going on by the police in the district along with this, the interest of the youth is being directed towards sports.
