Terrorist killed by Security Forces in Rajouri

Rajouri, June 2: An unidentified terrorist was killed in a forest in the Dassal Gali area, in the vicinity of Rajouri Township, in a joint operation by the Army and J&K police on the intervening night of June 1 & 2.
No official statement has been issued yet related to this encounter, about the detail of recoveries made and the identity of the suspected slain terrorist either by the army or by the district Rajouri police.
In the morning ADGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh in a message said that a militant was killed in a joint operation by the Army and the police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Thursday night.
In another message PRO Defence Jammu, Lt Col Devender Anand said a joint ambush was laid by the Army in coordination with J&K police in a forest near Dassal Gujran (near Rajouri) village on the intervening night of June 1 & 2.
“A suspicious movement was noticed and being challenged by our troops, they were fired upon which was retaliated by our troops. Sporadic firing continued throughout the night,” said PRO.
A cordon & search operation was launched after specific intelligence input about the presence of a group of terrorists in the Dassal Gjran general area.
An intensive search was conducted in the entire area and during search Security Forces recovered the body of suspected unidentified terrorist.
Reliable sources said that the SFs also recovered 1-AK 56 rifle along with 7 magazines (4 empty) and 60 rounds; 4- hand grenades; 12- detonators; 1-IED switch; packets of medicines & injections; biscuit packets (Lahore made), & clothes.
The entire area is under cordon of the SFs and no further contact was established with the terrorists till the filing of this report.
It was the second contact with the terrorists after two major incidents of terror attack in which 10 soldiers attained martyrdom in the month of April at Bhata Dhurian (In Poonch) and in a Kandi Forest (in Rajouri)in the first week of May respectively.
Pakistan’s ISI in nexus with terrorist outfits is making every effort to disturb peace & tranqility in Rajouri & Poonch districts. On May 31 three terrorists were arrested by the Army along LoC near Khari village & recovered arms, ammunition, 10 kg pressure cooker IED, and huge quantity of narcotics.
