Missing of Forest land record is their weapon!
- The senior Forest officers failed to take action against the concerned Block Forest Officer who is the signatory of wrong report which denies the existent of Forest land in Thandi Choi.
- The junior staff working in Thandi Choi seems to be powerful that the senior most officers as all of them gone on silent mode.

Jammu, Apr 18: What is going inside the Forest Department of Jammu & Kashmir? Why the maximum officers of forest department are so callous that they do not have knowledge about the forest land and departmental record? Why the officers of forest department were on feet and denying about the Forest land in Thandi Choi? Why the entire department is trying to hide the biggest Khair scam held in Thandi Choi? Why the Forest department denying about the Boundary Pillars installed in Thandi Choi to demarcate the Forest land? Why some private persons are interested in the scam of Forest department and felling of illegal Khair trees from Forest land? Why have been 298 Boundary Pillars installed by Forest department in Thandi Choi locality if there is no Forest land Thandi Choi? Which officer has concocted the new name Chandi Choi instead of Thandi Choi to mislead the public and later made the correction? Why has the Deputy Commissioner Jammu delayed to act against the concerned revenue officers involved in Khair scam of Thandi Choi? These are some hard questions irritating in the mind of people and looking forward towards Forest department and government for perfect replies.
The illegal felling/cutting of Khair trees from Forest land situated in Thandi Choi has come up and despite the strong evidences the department has opted for wavering attitude so that the culprits may get the enough time to erase the evidences and to lessen the gravity of the crime. The senior officers of Forest department have remained unmoved over the biggest Khair scam that too from the Forest land of the Thandi Choi. The Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Jammu & Kashmir least bothered about the illegal cutting/felling of Khair trees from the Forest land.
The most intriguing part of the story is that the Forest department has no land record in their Muhafiz Khana and the missing of forest land record is being used as shield by corrupt officers and in this garb they are laying hands on Khair trees on Forest land. But the unfortunate part of the corrupt officers of Forest that the reply of RTI reveals that 298 BPs were installed installed/constructed in Thandi Choi Forest in Kalidhar range. It is pertinent to mention that the purpose of installation of BPs to demarcate the Forest land from the other land and it is crystal clear that in Thandi Choi there is a large chunk of Forest land. In case, if there is a single honest officer in the Forest department at present then there is no difficulty to expose the Khair felling scam but the pace and way of probing indicate that the department is least bothered to save the green gold.
The RTI reply reveals that the Forest department has installed 70 boundary pillars in 1995-96 at Thandi Choi to demarcate the Forest land so that Forest land may be easily located. Not only this, in the year of 2004-05, the Forest department has installed more 220 boundary pillars only for the purpose to demarcate the Forest land. But the Forest department kept on denying about the Forest land in the said locality.
