Callous attitude of RRCM causes big loss to DPs!
- The Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (M) Jammu & Kashmir has not consulted and taken popular and working organisations in confidence resulting into wastage of public money and time.
- Depending on only one organisation which is very less popular was a big mistake and it has deprived maximum POJK DPs from the benefits.
- Even the non-official members nominated by the government to sort out the problems of POJK DPs too ignored.

Jammu, Mar 19: Why has not the Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Jammu & Kashmir consulted and taken in confidence all the organisations of POJK Displaced Persons to make the LG’s Special Governance Camps for Displaced Persons of POJK successful events? Why has the Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Jammu & Kashmir taken lightly to make the LG’s Special Governance Camp for Displaced Persons of POJK? Why has the Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Jammu & Kashmir remained dependent on only one organisation POJK Visthapit Sewa Samti a very less and even one can say negligible popular organisation for conducting the LG’s Special Governance Camp for Displaced Persons of POJK? Who is responsible for depriving off the maximum families of POJK DPs from getting benefit out of LG’s Special Governance Camps for Displaced Persons of POJK? These are very hard but significant questions irritating in the mind of concerned people and need to be answered by the Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Jammu & Kashmir himself.
The energetic Lt Governor Mr Manoj Sinha has taken an initiative first time in last 70 years to reach out the POJK DPs at their door step and he entrusted this job to Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Jammu & Kashmir to make this scheme a purposeful so that maximum POJK DPs may be benefitted from such camps starting from March 06 to March 19, total 9 camps at different nine places. But the callous attitude of the office of Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Jammu & Kashmir has made these camps a flop show and left the POJK DPs in morass as a few persons knew about it due to non-consultation of POJK DPs worthfull organisations.
The first camp was organised in Bhour Camp on March 06 and the Lt Governor has inaugurated it so that maximum number of POJK DPs may be benefited and enrol themselves by filling ‘Needs Assessment Form- DPs of POJK’. But it is very sad that due to callous attitude of office of Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Jammu & Kashmir made these camps a purposeless camps and wastage of peoples’ money.
The camps was officially ordered by the Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Jammu & Kashmir on 02-03-2023 vide order No RRCM/Estt/2022-23/2312 that at nine different places these camps would be organised in six districts but the purpose got defeated. In the notice it is clearly mentioned at the last as ‘Through the medium of this Public Notice, all the Displaced Persons of POJK are requested to avail the benefits of the camps scheduled and get themselves registered under various CSS/SS being implemented by the Government.’
But the office of Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Jammu & Kashmir utterly failed to make these camps maximum successful. I would like to mention that first camp was organised on March 06 to cater the people from Satwari to onward consisting lakhs of POJK Displaced Persons but I feel shame to mention that less than 100 persons got registered. This is all due to non-seriousness of office of Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Jammu & Kashmir. Had Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (M) consulted and called a meet with the all the organisations of POJK DPs then the result would be much better and the camps would be purposeful but consulting only a negligible organisation defeated the purpose completely? Even they do not have called the non-official members to sort out the problems of POJK DPs nominated by the government to seek suggestions and help to make these camps very successful.
I repeatedly attempted to contact the Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (M) Jammu & Kashmir on his mobile to have his words about such camps but sometime calls not got matured and sometime calls remain unattended.
