Sunderbani police apprehend Juvenile involved in carnal intercourse

Rajouri, Feb 27: Sunderbanial police in Rajouri district apprehended a juvenile within 24 hours of carnal intercourse committed by him with a 5-year-old boy at his home in ward No 5 in Sunderbani town.
On the complaint of the victim’s mother Jyoti Devi w/o Rakesh Kumar r/o Bela Khwas (i Kotranka sub-division) and at present living in Sunderbani town, the police registered a case FIR No.11/2023 under 5 (m)/06 POCSO Act and section 377 IPC.
In her complaint, Jyoti Devi stated that her 5-year-old son(name withheld) was playing on a rooftop on February 24 when at about 4 pm a juvenile son of their neighbour (details withheld) took her son to his home and committed carnal intercourse with her minor child and fled away from the spot.
SSP Rajouri, Mohammad Aslam informed that immediately after the complaint, teams were constituted to apprehend the juvenile and on the basis of human as well as technical intelligence police teams conducted raids at several suspected hiding places.
Finally, a police team headed by SHO Sunderbani, Inspector Deepak Pathania, and assisted by Sub Inspector (probationer), Sunil Raskotra; Assistant SI, Sardari Lal apprehended the juvenile from a hideout under the supervision of Additional SP Nowshera, Mohd Rafi Giri; and SDPO Nowshera, Tussif Rishu.
“As the wanted Juvenile is a vagabond type of character and in the past, there were several complaints of mischievous incidents against him and he used to flee towards Punjab & Haryana. He was apprehended very timely, otherwise, he would have escaped outside the UT of J&K,” the police said.
“Parents are advised to keep a check on the negative activities of their children, which correctly and timely can avoid major crimes at a later stage,” said SSP, Mohammad Aslam.
He also hailed the efforts of the Sunderbani police station team for timely action and apprehension of the accused juvenile within 24 hours after committing the heinous crime.
