122 bottles of banned psychotropic substance recovered, 2 arrested

Jammu, Nov 30: The Jammu police under the wise and skilled guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu Chandan Kohli IPS has fixed the target to eradicate the menace of drug in the vicinity of Jammu district and very near in future this menace would be wiped out.
Acting tough on the menace of drug trafficking and substance abuse, dedicated police team of Police Station, Gandhi Nagar led by skilled Station House Officer, Police Station Gandhi Nagar Inspector Pankaj Sharma while on naka duty at Shamshan Ghat Shastri Nagar rounded up two suspects namely included Ajay Bharti Tangotra son of Parkash Chand resident of Channi Rama and Yojovinder Singh son of Lt. S. Sewa Singh resident of Adarsh Vihar Sainik Colony Jammu who were on their vehicles i.e car bearing registration number DL8CAW/9922 and Scooty bearing registration number JK02CL/1298. On search of their belongings, 122 bottles of banned psychotropic substance i.e 122 Wincirex Cough Syrup bottles containing Codeine Phosphate of 100 Ml each were recovered from them.
They have to deliver this consignment to their destination to sell among the youth of the Jammu. This huge consignment was meant for the youth of Jammu and it was sufficient to damage the future of several youths of the Jammu. The skilled approach of Inspector Pankaj Sharma was instrumental to foil this drug smuggling attempt.
On this, case FIR No. 304/2022 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Gandhi Nagar and after arresting the two accused. The overall arrests and recoveries were made under the direct supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma.
The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of SP South Mamta Sharma.
Further investigation of the case is going on to ascertain the source of drug-peddling and for which place exactly the said consignment was meant for, besides who was the person of persons to receive this consignment of drug.
