AK rifle, pistols recovered along LoC in Mendhar

Rajouri, Feb 14: District Poonch police & the Army in a joint search operation have recovered a cache of arms & ammunition near the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar tehsil.
The police team was led by SDPO, Mendhar and the consignment of arms & ammunition was dumped about a kilometer inside the Indian territory from LoC.
The recovery includes 1-AK 47 rifle along with a magazine and 2-9 mm pistols along with 2 magazines.
“No arrest has been made so far in this connection,” said SHO, Mendhar police station
Sources said the search & destroy operation was launched reportedly on specific inputs from reliable sources in Deri Dabsi village situated along LoC.
A case under sections 7/25/26 Indian Arms Act at Mendhar police station and the police has started further investigation.
