Akashvani Jammu losing credibility

Jammu, Dec 5: Akashvani Jammu, just two years back known as Radio Kashmir Jammu, was considered as one of the best stations of All India Radio across the country. Drama section has the reputation of winning several awards and so was the case with other sections of the erstwhile Radio Kashmir Jammu. Every programme produced and presented by this station was a marvel in its own style. This was possible only because of maintaining the disciplined and proper decorum by every section. For example the value of time was strictly maintained in the fractions of minutes and seconds. Time was announced several times in a day describing hours, minutes and seconds. People were so confident of the correctness of the time announced by Radio Jammu that they used to set the time of their watches according to the radio. Every programme was neither over carried nor under carried. If at any time a program for some reason is under carried, the next program was not broadcast before the scheduled time and till then music which was called filler was played to cover the gap. But now, it is very sad to say that there is no discipline with regard to time in Akashvani Jammu. Most of the programmes carry over by not only seconds but also by minutes. Now there is no fixed time of any programme and neither any discipline is being maintained to adhere to the schedule of the broadcast timing of the programmes. Because of this chaos people have lost the faith in the timing of programmes broadcast by Akashvani and also interest to listen. Because of this Akashvani has lost its credibility.
