LG meets protesting NHM contractual workers, announces three month extension

Jammu, Oct 3: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday met protesting contractual health workers of National Health Mission (NHM) outside the Government Medical College and Hospital here.
The NHM employees have been protesting after their contract period was ended by the administration.
The protesting employees claimed that they dedicatedly worked during COVID period and served the humanity by risking their lives but in return, the administration revoked their contract.
Mr Sinha this morning reached at the GMC main gate where NHM Contractual Health workers were protesting after their termination from service from last four days.
Mr Sinha on the spot announced three months extention and assured them that whenever new vacancies will be filled, preferences will be given to NHM employees. UNI
