Kathua, 08 September 2025: In a strong move against illegal mining activities, J&K Police Kathua seized six vehicles engaged in unauthorized mining and mineral transportation at Ujh Pull, Tharakalwal, and Hatli areas.
During routine patrols on 08.09.2025, a team from PS Billawar led by SHO Insp. Zaheer Mushtaq, along with IC PP Ramkot PSI Ranbeer Singh and under the supervision of SDPO Billawar Sh. Neeraj Padyar, intercepted and seized four Tractor Trolleys (Reg. Nos. JK08-6284, JK08P-6234, JK08P-8039, JK08H-8521) carrying sand without legal permits.
Simultaneously, the police team from PP Hatli, led by IC PP Hatli and overseen by DySP Headquarters Kathua and SHO PS Kathua, seized two Dumpers (Reg. Nos. JK08K-9245, JK08N-8817), also engaged in illegal mining.
All six vehicles were handed over to the Geological and Mining Department Kathua for further action.
This operation reaffirms the commitment of J&K Police to prevent illegal exploitation of natural resources and maintain environmental protection.
