Father booked under POCSO Act and 115(2)/351(3) sections of BNS

Rajouri, August 25: Thanamandi police in Rajouri district have arrested a father for allegedly molesting his 13-year-old daughter.
In a viral video on a social media platform, the victim asked the police for the arrest of her father, as he threatened to kill her if she disclosed anything about the molesting and sexual harassment by him.
The victim, after repeated attempts of molesting by the father, by showing her porn videos, approached her mother (who reportedly has been divorced by the accused) and grandfather (Nana).
The victim also alleged that earlier also she had narrated the entire incident to her mother about the act of her father. The mother was shocked to hear about the incident, following which the mother confronted her husband about the act. Thereafter, the accused father allegedly beat them up.
On the written complaint of the victim and grandfather, Thanamandi police acted swiftly and booked and arrested the accused, namely Shamas ul Din, resident of Rajdhani, under sections 10/12 POCSO Act and 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 351(3) BNS (FIR No.111/2025)
On Monday, the grandfather and mother of the victim reached Thanamandi and narrated the whole episode.
The victim also said that she wanted to go to Grandfather’s house (Nana) and did not want to live with her father, as he had threatened her, her mother, and Nana of dire consequences.
“If I am forced to live with my father, I will commit suicide rather than live with him,” said the victim.
The grandfather of the victim has alleged (in the viral video) that he has also been threatened by his son-in-law for any action against him.
The police have started further investigation into the allegations, and in this matter, sources said.
