Jammu Police Dedicates ‘I LOVE AKHNOOR’ Selfie Point to Celebrate National Recognition

Jammu, July 17: In a unique gesture to strengthen police-public relations and celebrate local pride, Jammu Police today unveiled a vibrant ‘I LOVE AKHNOOR’ Selfie Point near Punnu Chowk on Akhnoor-Jourian Road. The initiative comes close on the heels of Akhnoor Police Station receiving a Certificate of Excellence from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), recognizing it among the best-performing police stations in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The selfie point was formally inaugurated by SP Rural Jammu, Sh. Brijesh Sharma, JKPS, in the presence of SDPO Akhnoor Sh. Varinder Gupta and SHO Akhnoor Insp. Sanjeev Chib. The event was also graced by MLA Akhnoor, Sh. Mohan Lal Bhagat, along with local dignitaries and enthusiastic residents.
Speaking at the occasion, SP Brijesh Sharma stated,
“This structure is more than just a photo spot-it’s a symbol of trust, collaboration, and shared pride between Jammu Police and the people of Akhnoor. Our recent recognition by MHA is a result of strong public support, and this is our way of saying thank you.”
MLA Mohan Lal Bhagat applauded the initiative, terming it “a creative and meaningful step by the Jammu Police that fosters a stronger sense of community and pride in Akhnoor.”
It is pertinent to mention that the Akhnoor Police recently also dedicated a volleyball ground with night-play facilities in Ambaran Panchayat, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to youth engagement and community development. Both initiatives are attributed to the proactive leadership of SHO Akhnoor Insp. Sanjeev Chib.
With such community-focused projects, Jammu Police continues to redefine modern policing-promoting not only safety and law enforcement but also public trust and social development.
