Kishtwar, June 11: In a significant development ahead of the annual Machail Mata Yatra, senior police officials conducted a comprehensive review of the arrangements in the remote Paddar region of Kishtwar district.
The visit was led by Inspector General of Police (IG) Jammu Zone, who was accompanied by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) DKR Range Batote and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar. The officers assessed the ongoing preparations to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the upcoming pilgrimage. During their visit, the officials convened a review meeting with SHO Paddar and Sarpanch of Machail, Jagmat Narboo, to discuss the coordination and readiness of various departments involved in managing the yatra. They also paid obeisance at the sacred Machail Mata shrine and interacted with locals and stakeholders along the route.
The team carried out an extensive inspection of the security arrangements, road connectivity, medical support systems, lodging facilities, and emergency response setups being readied for pilgrims. Given the challenging terrain of the region, special emphasis was laid on ensuring the safety and comfort of devotees.
Local residents expressed appreciation for the administration’s proactive efforts, highlighting the positive impact of early planning and coordination. Officials reiterated the need for inter-agency cooperation and appealed to the public to extend full support in ensuring a peaceful and spiritually enriching yatra experience.
The visit reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to providing a secure and well-organized pilgrimage for the thousands of devotees expected to visit the shrine in the coming weeks.
