Rajouri, June 10: In an intelligence-based search-and-destroy operation, the Rashtriya Rifles unit of the Indian Army on Tuesday busted an old terrorist hideout in the dense forest of the Barachradi area in Thanamandi tehsil of Rajouri district.
A joint search operation with the J&K Police was launched in the area in the morning. During an intensive search, the security forces discovered the hideout and recovered 10 Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) grenades, 50 Duracell batteries, 10 large torch cells, a plastic tarpaulin, medicines, a plastic can, and other daily-use items.
The UBGL grenades were destroyed on the spot.
It is believed that the hideout had been used as a temporary shelter by militants operating in the area.
No arrests were made during the operation.
