Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, IAS, on Wednesday reviewed the formulation of the Capex Budget for the district, aiming to strengthen grassroots planning and ensure inclusive development.
Present at the review meeting were General Manager DIC Fareed Kohli, ACP Sheraz Chouhan, Chief Planning Officer Maqsood Ahmed, ACD Auqil Naveed, Deputy Director Employment Mohammad Nawaz, and other district and sectoral officers.
Abhishek Sharma emphasized the importance of conducting Gram Sabhas in their true spirit, highlighting their crucial role in participatory planning. He directed the authorities to circulate the schedule of Gram Sabhas well in advance to ensure transparency and maximum public participation.
He also reviewed the ongoing gap analysis for the formulation of Village Action Plans under the Vibrant Villages Program (VVP), which focuses on the development of border areas.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need to align VVP plans with thematic areas, including connectivity enhancement, promotion of eco-tourism, and overall infrastructure improvement.
The meeting also decided to develop innovative plans for underground community structures, such as gyms, libraries, and other utility-based facilities, to optimize land usage in geographically constrained areas.
