Khour, 31st May: In a proactive move to bolster emergency response capabilities, a comprehensive mock drill was successfully conducted at the Khour Bus Stand under Operation Shield. The exercise simulated a real-time crisis situation involving cross-border shelling and a coordinated terrorist attack scenario, ensuring preparedness of various departments in handling high-stress emergencies.
The drill witnessed the active participation of Satish Sharma, SDM Khour, who supervised the operation alongside his team of administrative officials. Personnel from the Indian Army, Police Department including SHO Khour Neeraj Choudhary and subordinates, Health Department, and other key government departments joined hands to execute the simulation with precision and coordination. The scenario unfolded with a simulated shelling from the enemy side, leading to mock injuries and chaos among civilians. Participants efficiently demonstrated the evacuation of injured individuals and the general public to designated safe zones, showcasing their readiness to tackle such unforeseen events. Adding further complexity, a terrorist attack situation was also enacted, which was jointly neutralized by the army and police forces in a coordinated tactical response. The public present at the site were sensitized about the necessary emergency response protocols and were guided on how to act during such critical situations. The drill not only served as a preparedness exercise but also helped strengthen inter-departmental coordination, ensuring a smooth and synchronized response mechanism. Speaking on the occasion, SDM Satish Sharma lauded the joint efforts of all participating units and emphasized the importance of such drills in building a resilient response framework for the safety of citizens.
