*Commends Youth Congress for Exemplary Relief Efforts*

Poonch, 14 May: In a profound gesture of solidarity and compassion, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Shri Tariq Hameed Karra paid a visit to the victims affected by the recent cross-border shelling in the Poonch district. During his visit to the beleaguered border regions, he inspected the relief shelter established by the District Youth Congress (DYC) Poonch, a facility instituted under the express directives of Indian Youth Congress (IYC) National President Shri Uday Banu Chib.
This humanitarian initiative, meticulously coordinated under the astute leadership of J&K Youth Congress Vice President, Er. Adv. Fiaz Diwan, alongside District Youth Congress President, Shri Zulafqar Ahmed Manto, has served as a beacon of hope for those displaced by the escalation in hostilities. The relief operations have been further fortified by the tireless efforts of DYC Vice President Shri Mehboob Ashraf, General Secretary Mir Shah Hussain, Sadaq Hussain, Shahid Ahmed, and an unwavering cadre of volunteers.
Shri Karra was accompanied by a distinguished delegation comprising prominent Congress leaders, including PCC Working President and former Minister Shri Raman Bhalla, former MLA and MLC Shri Jahangir Mir, AICC National Secretary Shri Neeraj Kundan, AICC Secretary Shri Shehnawaz Choudhary, MLA Rajouri Shri Iftekhar Ahmed, PCC Spokesperson Shri Ravinder Sharma, DCC President Shri Rajinder Singh Kaka, DCC Working President Shri Taj Mir, along with senior party leaders Shri Rayaz, Shri Ajaz, and others.
The Congress delegation engaged earnestly with the displaced families, assessing their immediate needs and reassuring them of the party’s unwavering support. Speaking to those gathered at the shelter, Shri Karra lauded the proactive and humanitarian role of the Youth Congress. “The commendable efforts of the Youth Congress Jammu and Kashmir, under the dynamic leadership of Er. Adv. Fiaz Diwan and Shri Zulafqar Ahmed Manto, exemplify the ethos of public service and compassionate leadership in times of adversity,” he remarked.
He further emphasised that the Indian National Congress remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the welfare, dignity, and rehabilitation of border residents. “Our presence here today is not merely symbolic, but a reaffirmation of our collective resolve to advocate for the safety and well-being of every citizen adversely impacted by such unprovoked acts of aggression,” he stated.
Indian Youth Congress National President Shri Uday Banu Chib has assured the state leadership specifically JKPYC Vice President Fiaz Diwan and the DYC Poonch team of unwavering logistical and moral support during this ongoing humanitarian crisis. The relief shelter continues to function as a sanctuary, offering sustenance, shelter, and solace to families displaced by the recent hostilities.
