Blast like sound heard near police convoy in Thanamandi

Rajouri, March 20: Suspected anti-national elements hiding in the bushes of the Manyalgali area in Thanamandi tehsil reportedly hurled a grenade at a police convoy at around 7:30 PM on Thursday. However, the grenade missed its target. No damage to vehicles or injuries to police personnel were reported from the area. Moreover, neither the incident has not been confirmed by any senior police officer in Rajouri nor the J&K Police have issued any statement about the nature of the blast.
Sources indicate that the grenade was intended to target the vehicle of the SDPO Thanamandi, who, along with a police party were moving on an operational duty following information about suspicious movement.
The grenade reportedly missed its target and exploded away from the convoy. Additional forces have been rushed to the area for further action.
