A young boy reported missing, suspected to be captured in Jouzangtek Area

Jammu/Imphal, Mar 17: A 16-year-old boy from Keishampat, Imphal West, who has been missing since yesterday, is now suspected to have been captured in the Jouzangtek area, causing immense concern among local residents and authorities. The missing boy, identified as Luwangthem Mukhesh, son of Luwangthem Gyanendra from Keishampat Leimajam Leikai, vanished around 2 PM on March 16, 2025.
In response to the alarming situation, Maheshwar Thounaojam, National General Secretary of the Republican Party of India (Athawale), has been at the forefront of efforts to locate the missing youth. Thounaojam, immediately, has written a formal letter to the Director General of Police (DGP) of Manipur, urging swift action to locate and rescue Mukhesh. He is also mobilizing all available resources to trace the whereabouts of the boy and ensure his safety.
The news of the missing teenager has created widespread panic in the locality, with hundreds of concerned citizens visiting Thounaojam’s residence to seek answers and solutions. Thounaojam has assured the public that he is working tirelessly to address the issue and calm the fears of the community. He is actively monitoring the situation and coordinating with law enforcement to ensure the boy’s safe return.
According to Thounaojam, the boy is feared to have been captured in the Jouzangtek area, a location that has raised serious concerns about his safety. Given the previous incidents involving missing minors, the RPI (Athawale) leader expressed grave concern over the possible dangers the boy may be facing, urging immediate police intervention to prevent any harm to Mukhesh.
The case bears disturbing similarities to the disappearances of two other minors, Phijam Hemanjit of Takyel Kolom Leikai and Linthoingambi Hijam of Sagolband Tera Tongbram Leikai, who went missing on July 6, 2023. Reports suggest that the mobile phone location of Mukhesh coincides with the area where Hemanjit and Linthoingambi were tragically found murdered, adding to the growing anxiety among residents.
Authorities are investigating the situation further, but as of now, more details are awaited. The community continues to pray for the safe return of Luwangthem Mukhesh and is counting on the swift action of law enforcement to resolve this crisis.
