Several join BSP in Jammu as part of growing membership campaign

In a significant development, over two dozen individuals from various political affiliations joined the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today, marking a key milestone in the party’s ongoing Jam Sampark Abhiyaan (Membership Campaign) ahead of the forthcoming local body and panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The new members were warmly welcomed by the party’s state in-charge, former Member of Parliament Dr. Avtar Singh Karimpuri, and state president Darshan Rana, who praised their decision to join the BSP.

The event, which witnessed a strong turnout, was attended by senior BSP leaders, including State General Secretary Sardar Raja Singh, State Coordinator Charanjit Chargotra, Gaurav Bakhsh, Sunil Majotra, Shashi Bushan Thapa, Tilak Raj Bhagat, and Tarsem Lal, among others. These leaders extended a warm welcome to the new members and highlighted the growing influence of the BSP in the region.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Avtar Singh Karimpuri, former MP and BSP’s state in-charge, emphasized the significance of the membership campaign as the party prepares for the upcoming elections. “The BSP is steadily gaining ground in Jammu and Kashmir as people recognize the party’s commitment to social justice and empowerment. Today, under the leadership of state president Darshan Rana, we are thrilled to welcome this large group of individuals to our party. Their decision to join BSP reflects the growing trust in our vision for a more inclusive and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir,” said Dr. Karimpuri.

He also announced that in a bid to strengthen the party’s presence in the Jammu division, BSP has decided to divide the region into five distinct zones. Four senior party leaders will be appointed in each zone to focus on grassroots-level engagement and organizational growth. “This restructuring will ensure that BSP’s presence is deeply rooted in every community, and in the coming days, we are confident that even more people will join our cause,” he added.

State president Darshan Rana, in his address, welcomed the new members and affirmed that this move is part of a broader strategy to bolster the party’s presence across the state. “This is a transformative moment for BSP in Jammu and Kashmir. With the creation of five regions within the Jammu division and an intensified membership drive, we are poised to make a lasting impact in the upcoming elections,” he said. He further stated that the party’s regional divisions will help ensure focused attention and resources, further amplifying BSP’s message of equality and empowerment.

The BSP’s Jam Sampark Abhiyaan continues to gain momentum, with the party’s leadership confident that this influx of new members will play a pivotal role in the party’s performance in the upcoming local body and panchayat elections.
