Indian army retaliate brief firing from PoJK side in Poonch

Rajouri, Feb 16: After a one-day lull either the Pakistan army or the hiding terrorists opened fire on the Indian Army’s forward post in the Deqwar area of Gulpur sector in Poonch district at about 11.30 am on Sunday (February 16).
Official sources while talking to a new agency confirmed a brief exchange of fire that took place in Poonch district on Sunday. Indian soldiers retaliated effectively for a brief period and no damage was reported in the incident. Few cross-border incidents had taken place along the Line of Control during the last 9 days, which included sniper fire and IED blast along the fence in Keri-Battal area of Akhnoor sector.
In the IED blast a captain and a Naik attained martyrdom while in the incidents three soldiers received injuries.
Sources added in befitting retaliation by the Indian army many casualties were reported on the PoJK side.
On February 12 night, Indian army foiled a major infiltration attempt in Tarkundi area and next day recovered anti-tank, claymore and anti-personnel mines left behind by retrieving terrorists/Pak regulars.
