Rajouri, January 31: Army said that alert troops in a night long intense and heavy firefight have eliminated two infiltrators at the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector.
During the search of the area in the morning today, the Army recovered three AK Rifles and war-like stores and the search operations continued.
Sources said that the killed terrorists were associated with Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit and reportedly are residents of Pakistan. White Knight Corps post on X : “Terrorist movement was detected on Thursday night at the Line of Control in Poonch sector. Alert troops swiftly engaged the infiltrating terrorists, triggering an intense and heavy firefight. The operation continued through the night, leading to the neutralisation of two terrorists. The search of the area thus far has resulted in the recovery of weapons and war-like stores. Operations continue.”
Meanwhile, Lt Gen M V Sachindra Kumar, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Northern Command, complimented the White Knight Corps for its swift action and precise execution in neutralising two terrorists and recovery of war-like stores.
Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar post on X read: “The army stands by its commitment to keep Jammu (and) Kashmir terror-free,”.
A group of 3-4 heavily armed terrorists tried to sneak into Indian territory from across the LOC in Khari-Karmara area and were challenged by the alert India troops.
