Team Galwade Chak Wins BSF-Organized Volleyball Tournament

Akhnoor, 24th January: The two-day volleyball tournament organized by the Border Security Force (BSF) under the Civic Action Program at Border Post Gol Pattan concluded successfully. The closing ceremony witnessed the presence of Varinder Dutta, Deputy Inspector General, as the chief guest. He was accompanied by Nandan Singh Bisht (Commandant), Suresh Kumar Shashni (Commandant), Rajeev Kumar Khugshal (Second-in-Command), and Vikrant Singh (Deputy Commandant).

During the event, Deputy Inspector General Varinder Dutta interacted with all the players and motivated the young athletes. A total of eight teams from the border villages participated in the tournament. In the final match, Team Galwade Chak emerged as the winner, while Hanuman Club secured the runner-up position.

The winning team was awarded a trophy, volleyball kits, and T-shirts, while the runner-up team received the runner-up trophy along with volleyball kits. Neeraj Choudhary from Team Gangu Chak was declared the best player of the tournament.

The Border Security Force regularly organizes such events in the border villages to encourage youth participation in sports and to foster mutual cooperation and strong relationships between the border guards and the local communities.
