Jammu, Dec 12: In a remarkable achievement, the Jammu Police have successfully cracked an attempted murder case within just 48 hours, apprehending six individuals involved in the crime. The case, which involved a brazen attack with a desi katta (locally made pistol) at Ring Road, Kunjwani, falls under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bishnah.
The shocking incident unfolded when one of the accused fired at the victim with the intention to kill. The victim, grievously injured, was then thrown off the 50-60 feet high Ring Road Kunjwani embankment by the accused. After the attackers fled the scene, local residents found the victim and rushed him to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bishnah for urgent medical attention.
In response to the incident, an FIR (No. 207/24) was promptly registered under Sections 109, 115(2), 191(2) BNS, and Section 4/25 of the Arms Act at Police Station Bishnah. The investigation was spearheaded by SHO Bishnah, Inspector Sushil Choudhary, whose exemplary leadership and relentless pursuit of justice played a pivotal role in solving the case. Under his direction, a specialized team of officers conducted multiple raids across various locations, showcasing outstanding coordination and dedication. Their efforts were supervised by SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna and SP Headquarters Jammu IH Rather.
The breakthrough came when all six accused were apprehended. During the interrogation, the suspects admitted their involvement in the crime. Acting on their disclosures, the police recovered the weapon used in the attack, a toka (sharp-edged weapon), and seized the vehicle used during the crime, a Swift car bearing registration number JK02DL 6601.
The police’s quick and decisive actions were instrumental in ensuring the success of the operation. His ability to lead from the front, coupled with his sharp investigative skills, not only instilled confidence in his team but also garnered appreciation from the local community.
