Int’l Poetry Conference held on Manumukt Manav IPS 42nd birth anniversary, 25 poets participated
Haryana– The Manumukt Manav Memorial Trust organized an international poetry conference to commemorate the 42nd birth anniversary of the late Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, Dr Manumukt ‘Manav’. The memorable event, lasting about two and a half hours, saw the, virtual participation of 25 poets from 18 countries across six continents.
Under the inspiring guidance of trustee Dr Kanta Bharti and the adept hosting by Dr Pankaj Gaur, the program commenced with Chief Trustee Dr Ramniwas ‘Manav’ welcoming the guests and presenting an overview of the Trust’s activities and achievements.
Padma Shri Dr Harmahendra Singh Bedi, Chancellor of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala, attended as the chief guest and paid tribute to Dr Manumukt, describing his untimely demise as an irreparable loss to the nation and society.
Dr Manoj Kumar Garg, Vice-Chancellor of Singhania University (Pacheri Bari, Rajasthan) and former IAS officer, remarked that Dr Manumukt symbolized youthful vigor and would continue to inspire young generations. The university’s Registrar, Dr Mohammad Imran Hashmi, expressed that the premature loss of such a talented and energetic officer was nothing short of a heartbreaking tragedy.
In his presidential address, Dr Dharmdev Vidhyarthi, Director of the Haryana Sahitya and Sanskriti Academy, Panchkula, emphasized that the presence of poets from around the globe to recite in memory of Dr. Manumukt was a heartfelt tribute to his legacy.
Poets from around the world presented diverse and heartfelt compositions included- 1) Dr Rama Purnima Sharma (Tokyo, Japan): Betiyan; 2) Rekha Rajvanshi (Sydney, Australia): Milta Aisa Insaan Nahi: 3) Ashish Sharma (Medan, Indonesia): Ek Naya Suryoday; 4) Aradhana Srivastava (Singapore City, Singapore): Ek Adhoora Vaada; 5) Dr Anjali Mishra (Colombo, Sri Lanka): Chaand Ne Kaha Nadi Se: 6) Dr Shweta Deepti (Kathmandu, Nepal): Hisse Ka Aasmaan; 7) Dr Aarti Lokesh (Dubai, UAE): Dhadkan Kya Hai?; 8) Dr Baijnath Sharma (Doha, Qatar): Sab-Kuch Achha Hai; 9) Meenakshi Saurabh (Accra, Ghana): Gair Zimmedar Ladke; 10) Jharna Dixit (Johannesburg, South Africa): Nayi Raah; and 11) Shweta Singh ‘Uma’ (Moscow, Russia): Ugi-Ugi Aditya Gosaiyan.
Whereas, the Indian poets also captivated the audience with their powerful pieces, included- 1) Dr Krishna Manishri (Mysuru): Dil Bechara Kyon Hai Hara; 2) Om Sapra (New Delhi): Mera Mahanayak; 3) Dr Mohammad Imran Hashmi (Pacheri Bari): Bachcha Hoon; and 4) Dr Dharmdev Vidhyarthi (Panchkula): Subah Ka Sooraj.
Chief Trustee Dr. Ramniwas ‘Manav’ shared poignant couplets dedicated to his late son, including:
“After the loss of my son, I continue to live;
Dashrath was nobler than me, for he couldn’t bear the separation.”
Notable Guests: The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Dr S Anukriti, Senior Economist at the World Bank (Washington, D.C.), Prof Siddharth Ramalingam, Strategic Manager at BCG International, and Emrah Karakoç, Hindi professor from Ankara, Turkey.
The conference, with its international resonance, stood as a true homage to Dr. Manumukt ‘Manav’s vision and legacy.
