Akhnoor, 16th November: MLA Mohan Lal took a significant step towards improving public amenities by laying the foundation stone for a new passenger shed at the Akhnoor Bus Stand. He was joined by former Municipal Committee President Sanjay Saraf, along with a team of esteemed councillors, including Rakesh Malhotra, Surinder Sharma, Karan Singh, Baldev Kumar, Ranjeet Gupta, Anil Sharma, KD Sharma, Ashok Sharma, DN Abrol, Vinay, Ballu, Nesha, Sudershan, Tikku Pardhan, Abhishek Verma, Vishal Sangral, Surinder Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Babbi, and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohan Lal emphasized his commitment to resolving the issues faced by Akhnoor town on a priority basis. He highlighted ongoing and upcoming projects aimed at boosting local business in the town’s bustling markets. Among the planned initiatives is the creation of designated rehri (street vendor) zones, designed to alleviate traffic congestion and ensure smoother mobility for residents and visitors alike.
He appealed to shopkeepers and local residents to actively cooperate in maintaining the town’s cleanliness and addressing encroachments. According to the MLA, these efforts would not only enhance the town’s aesthetics but also contribute to the growth of local businesses.
Mohan Lal also shared his vision of transforming Akhnoor into a prominent religious and heritage tourism destination. By attracting visitors from across India, he hopes to stimulate the town’s economy and create new opportunities for the local community.
