Rajouri, November 13: Additional Director General (DG) BSF (Western Command), Satish S Khandare accompanied by Inspector General BSF Jammu Frontier, D K Boora on Wednesday visited Rajouri BSF Sector and reviewed the security situation along the Line of Control in Rajouri & Poonch districts.
ADG BSF, Satish Khandare along with IG also flagged off a group of 34 local students from BSF Sector HQ Rajouri for a 10-day ‘Bharat Darshan’ tour organised by the 54th Battalion of the force.
Earlier he visited the Line of Control and interacted with the troops & praised them for performing their duties with dedication & professionalism.
While interacting with the media on the sideline of the flagging off ceremony ADG Satish Khandare said: “BSF is a professional force prepared to handle any infiltration challenges along IB & LoC. BSF is performing its border guarding duty with utmost alertness in coordination with Army & other forces including J&K Police and CRPF. All necessary measures to strengthen border security have been implemented”.
Inspector General BSF, Jammu Frontier DK Boora while interacting with media elaborated the heightened alertness and strategic coordination efforts along Line of Control (LoC) & International Border (IB) amid prevailing security challenges.
IG Boora said BSF has been adopting a multi-faceted approach to ensure the safety & integrity of the nation’s borders and has consistently maintained tight security posture in areas prone to infiltration & hostile activities.
“Our focus is to prevent infiltration, thwart militant activities and ensure peace along borders. We work with close coordination with Army & intelligence agencies in detecting & neutralising potential threats,”.
He added our personnel are well prepared and trained to operate in highly challenging environments & terrain along LoC.
IG BSF, DK Boora also highlighted the importance of timely intelligence sharing important to thwarting infiltration attempts & intercepting cross-border smuggling activities especially smuggling of narcotics & weapons.
“Security on the border is not just about defence, it’s about intelligence, coordination and constant vigilance that made us able to detect & prevent a significant number of illegal operations,” said IG Boora.
When asked about possible infiltration bids during the coming winter season IG BSF, DK Boora said: “There is no challenge in winter and fog comes every year, and our forces have the means to deal with it. This is not a new situation, like every year we will deal. Our neighbouring country always tries to carry out infiltration acts, we have the Border Protection Grid & equipment not to allow such attempts succeed & the border will be kept safe”.
