Hyderabad fraudster apprehended by Police: Major breakthrough in crime prevention

JAMMU : In a significant achievement for law enforcement, the Jammu Police have successfully apprehended a notorious fraudster from Hyderabad, marking a pivotal moment in the city’s ongoing efforts to combat crime. The individual, identified as Shaheensha Shareef, has been linked to a series of serious criminal offenses across multiple states.
The breakthrough occurred during a routine patrol by the Police Station (P/S) Nowabad. Under the leadership of Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Deepak Pathania and with the assistance of Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Jeevan Kumar, and under the vigilant supervision of SP City North Jammu Shivam Siddharth (IPS) and DySP Headquarters Jammu Ashok Kumar, the police team identified and intercepted a suspicious individual in the Dogra Chowk area.
The apprehended individual, who initially identified himself as Shaheensha Shareef, son of Shaik Shareef, from Santosh Nagar, Saidabad, Hyderabad, was unable to provide satisfactory answers to the police’s inquiries. His evasive responses led to his detention at the Nowabad Police Station for further interrogation.
During a rigorous and sustained questioning process, Shareef, who is 28 years old, revealed his true identity. A subsequent verification with Hyderabad Police uncovered a troubling background: Shareef is a prominent fraudster involved in numerous serious crimes. He is implicated in ten FIRs related to rape, cheating, fraud, and criminal breach of trust, registered across various police stations in Telangana. Additionally, there is an FIR of cheating against him in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. He has been a fugitive in a rape case from Hyderabad and has several other pending complaints in Telangana.
Following the completion of all legal formalities, Shareef, also known as Mr. Natwarlal, was handed over to the Hyderabad Police. Authorities from Hyderabad traveled to Jammu specifically to take custody of the accused, underscoring the gravity of the charges against him.
This successful operation highlights the Jammu Police’s steadfast commitment to maintaining public safety and upholding the rule of law. The apprehension of such a high-profile criminal serves as a testament to the effective coordination and vigilance of the Jammu Police force.
