Rajouri, May 25: In a major achievement the first batch of Medical Graduates of Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri has created history by achieving 100% result-with four distinctions-in the final year MBBS for which the result was declared by the University of Jammu.
Secretary to Government Health & Medical Education (HME) Department UT of J&K, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, IAS, has congratulated the students and the administration of Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri for this remarkable performance of the first batch of Medical Graduates.
The first batch with 100 MBBS seats began at GMC Rajouri in August 2019 & the first batch of doctors was produced successfully by the newly established GMC in the border district Rajouri.
Speaking on the occasion Principal GMC Rajouri Prof (Dr) A S Bhatia congratulated all the students and appreciated their persistence to achieve academic excellence in spite of being the first batch in the newly established college and sometimes had to face many unseen difficulties during their stay.
“All the credit for this outcome goes to all HoDs and faculty members of the institution who wholeheartedly guided the students throughout their course,” said Principal GMC Rajouri.
“GMC GMCWith passing out of these hundred students, the college is going to start internship program (first batch of interns at Rajouri) and with induction of these hundred doctors the manpower will be greatly boosted which will help in further improving the existing health care delivery system,” said Principal, Prof AK Bhatia.
GMC Administration has also appreciated the role of Medical Superintendent (MS), Dr Mehmood Hussain Bajar as he has to his credit of being the first MS of the GMC and now again under his tenure the first batch of college has passed out as doctors.
“Established in 2019, GMC Rajouri has excelled at the National and UT level by claiming many awards and medals including Bronze Certification from Quality Council of India for best patient care facilities and becoming the only GMC in UT to receive this award”.
“All laparoscopic surgeries have been introduced in all surgical branches, Blood Component Lab, De addiction facility, Thalassemia clinic, Fibroscan, CT Scan, Haemophilia Centre D R X- Ray, implementation of all centrally sponsored schemes and MoU with many National and International organization has been taken on war footing to bring latest in medical field to Rajouri,” said GMC Principal,
Massive plantation drive to prevent soil erosion in the Hills of Mehra Campus is another achievement of the college in recent past due to untiring and selfless efforts of the faculty, paramedics, and other supportive staff under the dynamic leadership of the Principal GMC Rajouri, Prof (Dr) A S Bhatia.
