Massive hunt to track down terrorists continued 3rd day

Rajouri, May 6: Even after more than 50 hours of terrorist attack on Indian Air Force Convoy in Poonch district- in which a soldier attained martyrdom while four other received serious injuries- no contact has been established with the terrorists involved in the attack despite aerial surveillance, deployment of additional forces and intensive search operation.
On Monday Security Forces released the sketches of two terrorists involved in an attack on an IAF convoy heading towards Sanai Top in Surankot area.
According to reports, security forces have detained several suspects for helping the terrorists in this attack and one among them a mason (OGW)who reportedly provided them food has identified these two terrorists.
The SFs have also announced Rs 20 lakh reward on any information leading to arrest of these two terrorists involved in the attack on IAF convoy.
A convoy of the IAF came under heavy firing ahead of voting for Lok Sabha in Anantnag-Rajouri Constituency.
Five IAF personnel were injured in the attack out of which one namely Corporal Vikky Pahade succumbed to his injuries at Command Hospital.
Like past terror attacks on army vehicles/personnel, this attack was also well planned by the Let Commander sitting in PoK Sajjid Jatt and again terrorists managed to escape in deep forests with the help of local OGWs.
During the last two years following terrorist attacks on the Indian Army, several high-level security/intelligence review meetings were held at Rajouri with a resolve to strengthen the intelligence grid and tough action against the terrorists and OGWs.
But despite these meetings no substantial action against terrorists has been noticed during the last two years except killing of hard-core terrorist Qari & his associate in the Kalakot operation in which we have also lost five bravehearts including two Captains.
In an attack on an IAF convoy, terrorists once again used steel bullets to cause maximum casualties which is a matter of concern for SFs.
Intensive search operation in Surankot & Mendhar besides some areas in Rajouri district continued on the third day on Monday to track down the perpetrators involved in the attack on the IAF convoy.
