Jammu April 28: Demonstrating swift and efficient action, Jammu Police have successfully cracked two separate firing incidents that occurred on April 27, 2024, at Mira Sahib and RS Pura, apprehending three primary suspects and recovering a Desi Katta along with live ammunition.
The incidents involved local criminals firing upon Khajuria Food Mall in Miran Sahib and subsequently repeating the act in Chohalla, RS Pura, while demanding ransom. Taking immediate cognizance of the situation, Jammu Police, under the leadership of SSP Jammu Dr. Vinod Kumar, registered cases at both Police Station Miran Sahib (FIR No. 44/307 336 34 IPC, & 3/25, 3/27 Arms Act) and Police Station RS Pura (FIR No 74/2024 U/S 452/307/34, IPC & 3/25, 3/27 Arms Act), launching a prompt investigation.
Dedicated police teams, utilizing human intelligence and technical surveillance, conducted raids at various locations within the jurisdictions of both police stations. CCTV footage from the crime scenes and surrounding areas was meticulously analyzed, leading to the identification and subsequent apprehension of the three main suspects involved in the firing incidents.
During preliminary questioning, the accused confessed to their involvement in the shootings, ransom demands, and other criminal activities. The apprehended individuals have been identified as:
@Guga, a resident of the RS Pura area, with a history of criminal activity, including four prior FIRs registered against him at various police stations for offenses such as assault, Arms Act violations, and attempted murder. @Krrish, also a resident of the RS Pura area, and Kulbir Bhagat, alias Rinku, son of Bhushan Lal, a resident of Langotiyan, RS Pura, who is also implicated in a separate rape case registered at Police Station Bishnah.
It is pertinent to mention here that following 04 FIR’s are already registered against the first accused @Guga 1. FIR no 72/2023 U/s 458/207/323/147/148 IPC 4/25 Arms Act PS RS Pura, 2. ?FIR no. 64/2023 U/s 458/323/504/506/34 IPC 4/25 Arms Act PS RS Pura, 3. ?FIR no. 06/2023 U/s 307 /341/324/506 IPC 4/25 Arms Act PS RS Pura, 4. FIR NO 98/2023 U/s 307,341,323,34,201 IPC 4/25 Arms act PS Arnia.
Meanwhile, the police successfully recovered the motorcycle and scooty used in the commission of these offenses.
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities exploring the role of individuals who provided logistical support to the criminals. Additionally, police are examining the potential involvement of notorious criminal Arun Choudhary, alias Abu Jatt, currently incarcerated at District Jail Kathua, along with his associates and contacts. The authenticity of social media updates and Instagram posts is also being scrutinized for any connection to the case.
