Samba, April 26: In a continued effort to combat drug trafficking, Samba Police, under the overall guidance of SSP Samba Vinay Kumar, JKPS, have apprehended a female drug peddler and seized a significant quantity of heroin within the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba.
A police team from Samba Police Station, accompanied by the Special Security Team (SST), conducted a routine vehicle check at a joint static naka established near SIDCO Chowk, Samba. During the operation, they intercepted a bus bearing registration number AR20-9645 traveling from Punjab towards Jammu. While inspecting the passengers, one woman exhibited suspicious behaviour, prompting a thorough search by female police personnel. Consequently, approximately 71.24 grams of a substance suspected to be heroin was recovered from her possession.
The arrested individual has been identified as Palvi Kunsla, wife of Vishal Kunsla, a resident of Amritsar, Punjab, currently residing in Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. She has been booked under FIR No. 115/2024 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Samba. Further investigations are underway to uncover the extent of her involvement in the drug trade and identify any potential accomplices.
Police sources reveal that the arrested woman, Palvi Kunsla, is a known drug peddler with a history of involvement in narcotics distribution.
While she has been apprehended on previous occasions, this marks the first instance where a formal FIR has been lodged against her, highlighting the seriousness of the current offense and the commitment of Samba Police to hold drug offenders accountable.

Under the supervision of SHO Samba, she has spearheaded numerous successful operations, demonstrating unwavering dedication and expertise in tackling drug-related crimes.
Deepika Jalotra has consistently targeted female drug peddlers, including the single-handed apprehension of Jano Bibi alias Bhabhi, a notorious figure in the drug trade. This remarkable feat earned her recognition from the then SSP Samba, Benam Tosh.
During her tenure at Supwal, Jalotra focused on dismantling rug networks, leading to the arrest of numerous drug smugglers. This included apprehending one of the most wanted female drug peddlers, codenamed Bachhi, along with her three accomplices. She also successfully apprehended Farman Ali alias DC, a key player in the region’s drug trade.
Jalotra’s commitment to law enforcement extends beyond drug-related offenses. She played a crucial role in recovering 12 tons of stolen iron goods, leading to the arrest of an eight-member theft gang in Supwal. Moreover, she busted a group involved in the illegal pilferage of LPG gas, ensuring their apprehension.
Since assuming her position as Incharge PP SIDCO two months ago, Jalotra has continued her relentless pursuit of drug offenders. Last month, she successfully recovered 5.32 grams of Chitta from Bothu Phalwan of Sarore, further solidifying her commitment to keeping the community safe.
