Jammu Police South Zone Recovers Stolen Vehicles and Property Worth Lakhs in Operation AVTAR and Meghdoot Crackdown

Jammu, April 21: Jammu Police South Zone has achieved significant success in combating vehicle theft, burglary, and other theft-related crimes under the ongoing Operation AVTAR (Anti-Vehicle Theft and Recovery) and Meghdoot initiatives. Through dedicated efforts and meticulous investigations, police teams across the South Zone have recovered stolen vehicles and property worth lakhs, ensuring the safety and security of citizens.
Under the guidance of SSP Jammu Vinod Kumar-IPS and the supervision of SP South Jammu Ajay Sharma-JKPS, SDPO Gandhinagar Kartik Shrotriya-IPS, and the leadership of SHO Gandhinagar Sudhir Sadhotra, SHO Satwari Sushil Sharma, and SHO Gangyal Harmohindar Singh, special police teams have worked tirelessly to track down stolen vehicles and apprehend those responsible.
In the past month alone, the South Zone police have recovered eight stolen vehicles and property worth approximately 21 lakhs, bringing the total recovery value to an impressive 30 lakhs. These successful recoveries are a testament to the dedication and effectiveness of the police teams in tackling theft-related crimes.
Notable Cases and Recoveries include : PS Gandhinagar: Gold ornaments worth 9 lakhs recovered: After a jewellery store theft case was registered on February 25, 2024, the police successfully arrested the accused and recovered 12 tolas of stolen gold from a finance company in Jalandhar, Punjab.
Three stolen bikes recovered: Following a complaint lodged on March 8, 2024, the police apprehended a suspect and recovered three stolen Splendor motorcycles.
Stolen auto rickshaw recovered: In a case registered on January 11, 2024, a stolen auto rickshaw worth over 2 lakhs was recovered after thorough investigation and questioning of suspects.
Theft case solved within 24 hours: Prompt action by the police led to the arrest of an individual and the recovery of stolen items worth 2 lakhs within 24 hours of the crime being reported.
Stolen Bullet motorcycle and two scooties recovered: Further demonstrating their efficiency, the Gandhinagar police also recovered a stolen Bullet motorcycle and two scooties.
PS Gangyal: Stolen machinery worth 6.5 lakhs recovered: Following a theft at Dashmesh Polymers Industries, the police apprehended the accused and recovered stolen machinery parts valued at approximately 6.5 lakhs.
Stolen items worth 1.5 lakhs recovered: The police successfully solved a shop theft case, arresting the accused and recovering stolen items, including a laptop, mobile phone, and tobacco products, with a total value of around 1.5 lakhs.
PS Satwari: Stolen motorcycle recovered within 24 hours: Acting swiftly on a theft complaint, the police arrested two individuals and recovered a stolen Pulsar motorcycle within 24 hours.
