Samba Police Nab Main Accused in Notorious Mohali Murder Case

Insp. Zaheer Mushtaq Leads Arrest of Gangster Wanted for Brutal Killing

Samba, April 15: In a significant breakthrough, Samba Police, under the leadership of SSP Samba Vinay Kumar, JKPS, have apprehended the prime suspect in the infamous Mohali murder case, who had been evading authorities since the crime.
Acting on credible intelligence, a police team headed by Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq, SHO of Police Station Vijaypur, detained a suspicious individual in connection with FIR No. 162/2023 under sections 341/323/392 of PS Vijaypur. During thorough interrogation, the suspect was revealed to be the main accused in the high-profile Mohali murder case, where gangster Rajesh Dogra, alias Mohan Cheer, was brutally killed due to rivalry between illegal gangs.
The arrested individual has been identified as Ranjeet Singh, alias Rimpa, son of Ashok Singh, a resident of Langeth Supwal in Samba district. He was wanted in connection with FIR No. 19/2024 registered at Police Station Phase 11 Mohali, Punjab, under sections 302/120-B IPC and 25/54/59 Arms Act.
Ranjeet Singh, a notorious criminal with a history of violence, is also implicated in two previous cases registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar, Jammu: FIR No. 17/2010 under sections 332/427/504/510 IPC and FIR No. 71/2016 under the same sections.
This successful operation highlights the dedication and efficiency of Samba Police in ensuring the safety and security of the region.
